Boy's U11 Soccer
The season is well over, but I just ran into the pictures so I thought I would share.
Bill and his friend Hyrum coached a Park & Rec city team this fall. I helped coach as well, but my role eventually evolved into the "team mom". These kids were amazing soccer players...they won almost every game by 10-15 points. Unfortunately, they were not very disciplined...they lost in the playoffs by one point due to a team breakdown.
The whole experience was great for both Bill and I (and hopefully the kids too). Through the season, they scored about 70 goals, ate about 300 cookies, and broke one arm. I love soccer!

Fun in DC
We were out visiting our friends, Randy and Chrissy, in Washington DC last weekend. It was a ton of fun! Thanks for letting us invade your weekend! (And James is just so cute)
We also got to hangout with Bill's brother, Jon, which is always fun (I am still sad that Becca and the girls were out of town).
And to make everything a little more fun, we also spent some time with Josh, one of Bill's roommates from BYU, who lives in Randy and Chrissy's ward. We met his wife, Cali, and their cute little girl, Piper.
The whole weekend was awesome. There was Medieval Times, a bike ride to DC, blue-buck pancakes, swimming, tennis, a Beatles concert, and root-beer floats. Thanks for a great weekend everyone!

Finishing our Basement
This has been a fun project so far...The differences are amazing already.
(Who would ever want to cover up that old wall? :-) The fist picture is Bill wiring the lights)
We tore out the old floor and laid tile.
We put up the framing for a new wall (with the help our good friend Curtis).
We have installed new light fixtures.
And Bill is currently doing the wiring for the new lights.
There is still a lot of work to do...but we hope to be done in another 4-6 weeks. I will post more pictures later.
It's a BOY!

New Widget
As you can see to the right...we added a new widget to our blog. Not a huge surprise, because I think almost everyone knows the news. Bill and I couldn't be happier or more excited! We hope to find out the gender in the next few weeks.

Stuck in Target
I got stuck in Target last night till about 10 o'clock! The cashier was ringing up my groceries, when I hear the announcement "the national weather service has issued a tornado warning...please step away from the windows and head toward the center of the store." I leave my groceries where they are (half bagged, and half still on the checkout belt) and head towards the middle of the store.
Just as I got to the women's clothing...the electricity went out! I heard the most synchronized drawn breath from a group of 100 people ever. It was bat-cave dark for about 15 seconds, and then the generators kicked on.
I ended up sitting there for about an hour...screaming babies and everything. It was kind of a nightmare, but all I could really think about was my icecream that was melting on the checkout belt.
Finally, I got to leave. The worst part was that I missed an apparently awesome storm. I don't think there was actually a tornado, but I heard it was down right exciting to watch.
Too bad I was stuck in Target!

Tour de Taco
Just got back from riding in the Collin's Family annual cycle-fest. This year's theme was Tour de Taco. We rode around Minneapolis to icecream and taco shops. Let's just say, it was a bike ride where more calories were consumed, than were burned.
There was a good turn out and it was tons of fun. Here are some pictures of the adventure. Read the Reuben's blog for all the details.

I signed up for the Clydesdale section of the triathlon. It was a mistake. I am not that big. everybody else was though... massive men dressed in black wetsuits with white shamu spots on them.
It was a washing machine of limbs and neoprene and teeth. the great northern pike at the bottom of the lake were eyeing my tender limbs and thinking of how delicious I would be all waterlogged and helpless, trapped in the seaweed of lake nokomis.
But I made it out and had a great time. the northern pike were sad. and Steph made delicious hamburgers that night.
